Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit. Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4096M The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size. Process ended with code: 1

If this error comes up it means that you have a 32-Bit install of Java. This may be from the OS bit (either 32 or 64) or merely that you previously installed the wrong one.

To fix, you will need to do one of two things:

  • Install a 64-Bit version of Java if you have a 64-Bit OS installed. This is unlikely but it can happen. If so ->
  • Change the RAM requirements of the Magikcraft launcher

To change the RAM requirements:

  1. Click on the pack in the launcher, but DONT LAUNCH IT
  2. Find the Options button on the bottom right of the window and click it
  3. You should see two entries towards the bottom of the new window: Minimum Memory (MB) [1024] and Maximum Memory (MB) [4096]
  4. Change the Maximum Memory to [1024]
  5. Click the OK at the bottom ot the window
  6. Launch as per usual
